Cousins at Play!

Before we left for our European adventure, I met up with Janis and Dawn to capture some memories of their boys at play.  With ages between almost 4 to 16 months you can imagine the amount of energy required to keep these little fire-balls entertained! We decided that the best way to confine them (even if only momentarily) was to pop them into Dawn's wagon...then we resorted to cookies, then chalk, then it was off to the park!  I must also thank the grand-parents for coming along to help keep these munchkins contained!

How cute are these four little tykes?! You may recognize Joe, Nigel and Noah from last year... or you may not, they have grown considerably.  This shoot was all about having fun, bright colors and playing!

Dreamy!

THis is the only word I can use today for many reasons!

1. Yesterday Leanne and Ray shared the most dreamy wedding day

2. I have the most dreamy family and friends

3. I have the dreamiest careers (photographer and physiotherapist)

4. I get to vanish for 2 dreamy weeks, wherein, I will be totally unreachable!!

That being said, i leave you with some eye candy from Leanne and Ray's perfect day (there will be more to come after my 2 weeks disappearance period!!)

RCMP!

This is a celebratory photo-shoot for Mark + Sheila and family. After diligence, perseverance, talent and sheer deservedness, Mark has been accepted to the RCMP!  This means however, that a move is shortly in order.

I must say, that being asked to document this incredible achievement was not only an honour but also the best compliment.  I love it when I get to follow a family as they grow, you may remember this family from last year. Wow how much have they all grown it is wild to be able to witness this!

SO here is a sneak peek of your photo shoot guys, as always a super blast to spend the afternoon with your adorable  family! All my best wishes on a safe and happy move, you guys will be missed here in Stratford by many.

Every detail of Mark's uniform is positioned just perfectly as part of the RCMP's standard operating guidelines, for example, the exact heel to heel position of his stance, the polish level of his boots, even the slight tip of the brim of his hat slanted toward his right!

As i was editing this shoot, I couldn't help but think, that in many years from now, this family will look back on these photos and recall all the hopes and dreams wrapped up in this exciting time and again, it makes me feel so appreciative that they have chosen me to be the one to capture these memories! cheezy i know but totally true! Like how proud is Mark's son, of his father!

   

  

Fallyn,  has grown sooo much and she is just jibbering and jabbering away! Man alive, i love this age!

Welcome Linley!

I was so excited when Danielle and Ryan asked me to capture some of their first few days with their brand new addition.  I absolutely love love love photographing newborns, they are so tiny and beautiful, they smell so delicious and they just have this magical way of bringing me tears of Joy.  

Linley is no exception, this little 5 day old, has already filled so many hearts with love and joy.  She is a bundle of pure goodness.   

One thing I especially love about photographing newborns is the insanely intimate moments i get to share with the proud new parents.  During the shoot, Danielle, Ryan and I were talking about the overwhelming amount of emotions these little beings bring us, and the tears started to swell up in these proud parents eyes ( I have not included those shots here in the sneak peek, but saved them for Danielle and Ryan only!).  It is so amazing to see such great people become parents, there is no denying the amount of love you guys have for your daughter! I am so excited for the two of you and your future adventures with your incredible little baby girl!

This shot is all about Danielle, I love how she is taking it all in, gazing at Linley with so much admiration... (you can just watch a sleeping baby for hours on end, it brings so much peace!)

Marmaduke!

Can you believe how much this puppy resembles Marmaduke! I met with Patti and her beautiful family earlier this week for a fun family shoot.  We ventured to an area that I rarely shoot at...the park! Believe it or not, i do tend to steer clear of places such as these...

Why you may ask?...well, i feel they tend to get over-used in photos and i am always trying to seek out a new angle, a new twist on family photos, so usually try to steer my clients away from the park shots

...for some reason, this shoot, i thought i would try to put a slight spin on the park thing and  i may just return after all! (I did find an incredible little piece of wall to work with and it even had a subtle hint of graffiti on it...wowie happy dana!) 

Okay so back to our lad Marmaduke...cute story to share:

I am editing like a crazy mad women these last few weeks, and tonight, i had to literally attempt editing with a 21 month old crawling around behind my chair, all the while practicing his new self proclaimed title:

 "Mountain goat"...followed up by a "climbing...hunter climbing"..."Mountain goat" repeat phrases at least 25 times...

So hunter is happily chirping away behind me when all of a sudden he looks at my big editing screen and correctly fires out this...

"wow...puppy..."

"wow...mama...really really big puppy"

I had a lovely mid-morning with your family Patti, i hope you guys enjoy your sneak peek!

THis family was just so much fun, Patti and I got into a wee conversation about how amazingly fast our children grow, and she said to me, that when Avery was just a wee little baby, her and her husband decided that each day no matter what, time would be set aside to play...just play...absolutely distraction free, no matter how messy the house was or how much work needed to be done...100% complete attention would be made on solely family time...

Well Patti, i would certainly say, that watching your family interact (through my lens!!) you have achieved the complete meaning of Family Fun!
