One of my dearest friends just welcomed her fourth baby into the world. Her first born boy! She never ceases to amaze me; her patience, her kindness and her caring nature is so clearly evident when you witness her with her children. Her unconditional love and deep rooted desire to see her children flourish in whatever they attempt is inspirational. I am so fortunate to have her as a friend and confident...so fortunate to have another 'extremist' to walk beside on me on this journey of motherhood!!
There is a quote that goes something like this:
"There will be a few times in your life when all your instincts will tell you to do something, something that defies present logic, upsets your current plans, and may seem crazy to others. When that happens, you DO IT!
Listen to your instincts and ignore everything else.
Ignore present logic, Ignore the odds, ignore the complications, and Just Go For It." (Judith McNaught).
Well my love, you went for it and your sweet sweet baby boy has arrived! He is absolutely delicious and perfect in every way. Enjoy these fleeting newborn moments, soak him up...You did it! You are now holding your 'precious' baby boy. I am so thrilled for you. I love you and cherish your friendship.
As a side note:
The goal of a newborn shoot is generally believed to be about the newborn, however, because mother and baby are so intricately woven together, I would be missing the entire mark if I did not focus on the love of the mother...my hope is that you can feel the love my friend has for her new baby in these images.
I can actually feel, sense and smell this mama soaking up her baby...Each moment we breathe in their beautiful souls it can do nothing but take our breath away. I will share with you a quote that I try desperately to live by...some days are certainly 'easier' than others, although I have noticed that sometimes, it is the most challenging of days, that bring the greatest rewards by the time 'bed-time routine' begins...
"You will never have this day with your children again.
Tomorrow they'll be a little older then they were today.
This day is a gift.
Just Breathe, notice, study their faces and little feet.
